HEB. 12:2

looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

The letter to the Hebrews was written by an unknown author, though the authorship may be a subject of controversy among bible scholars yet the message is in no way clouded.

It was written to Christians in times of trial to encourage and embolden them about their faith.

It is to assure them about the absolute supremacy and sufficiency of Jesus Christ over all authorities, principalities and personalities.

It assures them that God still speaks but now He does so through His son Jesus Christ who is superior to all prophets.

Hebrews encourages us to concentrate our focus on Jesus not withstanding the situation and circumstances in which we may find ourselves.

To look means to direct your gaze in one direction,

It means to go CONCENTRATE your attention on someone or something.

To maintain vision and pursue mission

Wherever there is vision, mission and attention I dare say that distraction is no far from there.

However While vision ad attention makes you achieve your mission or purpose distractions takes you away from your destination or purpose

In our world today, every thing is shaky and uncertain, the outbreak and spread of the contagious virus known as Codiv 19 has put everything on trial.

Faith is on trial

Economy is on trial

Relationships are on trial

Businesses are on trial

Employment are on trial

Family life is on trial

Many are sick, many are dying, many are hungry, loved ones are separated in some cases.

Many forecasts and projections for the year had been truncated

Visions are blurred or beclouded

Mission are been threatened or sometimes aborted

Butt this morning we encourage ourselves in the Lord and charge ourselves to look to Jesus because in Him is life and the life is the light of men John.1:4

He is the light that shines in darkness which darkness cannot overcome.

We need to know that wherever there is Vision, there will be mission but in the pursuit of our mission in life we must beware of distractions.

I dare say that we are facing the greatest distraction of the century now.

We do not even know what to believe and what to discard because we are living in a world with leaders who are so selfish that it may be risky so believe them. So beloved look to Jesus and live.
